Service in Action

Service is at the heart of everything we do. Through the dedicated efforts of American Legion Dorie Miller Post 194 and Auxiliary Unit 194, our fundraising and volunteer initiatives become meaningful opportunities to strengthen our community and improve the lives of others.
This page highlights the many ways our members put service into action—from providing gift cards for school supplies that help students begin the school year with confidence, to donating warm winter coats for families in South Arlington, enriching elementary school libraries during National Education Week, and delivering Thanksgiving baskets that bring hope and encouragement to families during the holiday season.
Each photograph reflects more than a moment—it tells the story of neighbors helping neighbors, members answering the call to serve, and a community united through compassion, generosity, and purpose. These acts embody the values of the American Legion Family and honor the enduring legacy of our namesake, Officer Dorie Miller.
We are proud to serve. We are honored to give. And we remain committed to making a positive difference—one act of service at a time.
